Local School Leadership Council (LSLC)
The Local School Leadership Council (LSLC) is a shared decision-making body, composed of elected parents, community members, and school personnel. The LSLC works cooperatively to make decisions in these areas of the school program:
- School calendar
- Professional development schedule
- Budget for instructional materials
- Student discipline guidelines
- Guidance for school equipment rentals such as copy machines
Meetings
The LSLC normally meets monthly, on Thursdays at 4:00pm in Zoom, unless otherwise indicated. Meetings are led by an administrator and UTLA members.

LSLC History
The Local School Leadership Council (LSLC) program was created in 1989, in response to teacher demands for schools to have more local control. The Council allows parent, teachers, other school staff members to contribute to planning that affects their school.
LSLC's primary purpose is to influence the budgeting of funds titled 4170, but it is also in charge of event scheduling and other areas.
ASCS needs 5 parents and 1 alternate for the LSLC. Meetings are monthly as shown in the schedule above.
